… you have reached the boulevard!

Photography outing

Today I joined a photography outing organised by Mr Razali of Apple Mint Photography.

First we gathered at Kluang railway station. We had our breakfast there.

Cameraman

While waiting for the train, we snapped photos around the station.

Train

When the train arrived, we snapped some photos of people busy getting off and boarding the train. We even brought along our beautiful model.

Lighting

Then we proceed to an abandoned workshop and set up the apparatus to snap photos in controlled lighting.

Model

Here is the model. You can see her in Finest Pixel too.

Then the group proceed to Gunung Lambak Recreational Park, Padang Ragut Ayer Hitam and Tasik Manong Ayer Hitam. Too bad I couldn’t follow them along.

I hereby like to thank Mr Razali and his group for the wonderful outing, and the precious lesson learned. See other participants’ photos here.

Great loss

The life and death of the celebrities may not mean anything to us. But I was really stunned by the departure of these three great people.

They are Datuk Sudirman Hj Arshad, Leslie Cheung and of course, Micheal Jackson. Their death is really a great loss to the music industry. Their songs will live forever.

Spooky

Spooky

What if you wake up in the middle of the night and see something like this?

iGoogle

How does your Google page look like? Mine is customised with iGoogle.

igoogle.jpg

I would like to share with you what are the theme and gadgets added to my iGoogle. First, I am using the Earth-light theme. This theme can track the light of the sun on the earth as it changes throughout the day. Means I can see which part of the earth is daytime and which part is night time. Great theme indeed.

The first gadget is a pendulum clock. There is a chime every quarterly hour. And there are “dong dong” sounds every hour (sounds spooky in the middle of the night). Below it is a mini calendar which I  can easily glance to check the date.

Next, there is a “weather forecast” for Kluang town for 4 continuous days. It shows the high-low temperatures and also the humidity of the days (I like thermometers). Below it is a “to-do” list. Can keep track of the important things I need to do.

At the last column, I installed a unit converter. Next time I do not need to hunt high and low for a ruler whenever I need to convert inches into centimetres. Just go to iGoogle and everything is there. Can change mass, volume, area, temperature.. etc. Very handy. Lastly there is a moon graph below the converter. Can check how big is the moon for the whole week.

Very interesting, right? Go customise your iGoogle now.

Hot days

sunrise.jpg

This is not a sunset. It is a sunrise, taken at the junction along Jalan Mersing while sending my daughter to school.

Earlier this year it was very hot. We thought it was the equinox effect. But the equinox seems to last forever. Now we are expecting the arrival of Mr El Nino. Hot days ahead.
