Plugged in, not charging

Hey… suddenly my laptop battery is not charging. I removed the battery, then put it back, still not charging.

First thing in my mind… the battery was dead. So I took the battery to the shop (still under warranty) but the technician claimed that he tested the battery and it was working perfectly. He asked me to bring along my laptop and the charger.

After a few hours, the technician called me and said that my laptop and the charger were working normally and the battery was charging as it should be. I took the laptop home, but …. weird, the battery is still not charging. How did the technician test and confirm it was OK just now?

I goggled for some info and found this. There are thousands of cases where the battery is not charging when the AC power is plugged in. Is this a Windows’ bug and not a hardware problem? Can anyone give me a clearer picture?
