… you have reached the boulevard!

Bread or skateboard?

CIMB Foundation organized a ‘MYCAUSE: Photos That Make a Difference’ contest with the main objective to empower the public to help communities in need by highlighting causes that require funding.

I participated in the contest by highlighting a voluntary welfare home for the poor under privileged children. All of the occupants there are school going children. They need books, stationeries, uniform and all the basic necessity of life including food and love. At present they depend mostly on public donations. The children there deserve a promising future just as the other normal children.

Last Thursday, CIMB announced the result of the contest. I failed. The first prize winner highlighted the plight of a group of skateboarders seeking for a venue for their activities. He said the sport is gaining vast popularity in the state but they lack a place to skate close to town.

I admit that my photos may not be impressive enough and do not bring much impact. But do the under privileged children need the fund more than a group of skateboarders seeking fun?
