In 2004, a promoter came to promote AmBank credit card to my wife. The promoter said the card offered free membership for a year and the card holder would be given a Lady Card. My wife signed up.
In 2005, my wife received a credit card statement from AmBank to pay the annual fee. My wife called the card center and she was told the payment was for the Lady Card. My wife had not use the card nor the Lady Card. Feeling cheated, she decided to terminate the card, thru the phone.
In 2006, another statement came asking her to pay the double the amount. But she had terminated the card. Never mind, she went to AmBank, explained the situation, filled up a form and the officer cut her card in halves. The officer said since she had no interest and not used any of the cards, the fee could be waived.
In 2007, nothing happened.
In 2008, my wife received a letter from the bank collector (licenced Ah Long, I think) for the amount of 4 years! My wife contacted the bank again and the bank said they would look into this matter. Nothing happened then.
In 2009, my wife’s name is now in the blacklist. Need to make a trip to the bank again today. Will update you the outcome.

eh my dad got the same prob with MBB. he nv used the card at all but is charged every year. but father went to pay and terminate the card. and the stupid bank did not proceed with his req, and continued to charge! my dad got so pissed off and went to make a fuss, finally the issue is resolved. damn them

i am so annoyed if those rep from credit card follow me around the shopping complex to lure me getting their card.i rather go directly to bank and apply it myself.i don’t even know these guys,and i will never gives my photocopied i.c etc.now the have thug!crazy bank,no ethic at all.stay away guys.
