It was 5.40pm. I fetched my daughters from their schools. The traffic was heavy as everyone was going home after work. When I reached the junction of Jalan Dorset and Jalan Jaya, there was a traffic jam.
As usual, in the evening, there were a lot of cars along Jalan Batu Pahat. The roundabout was packed with cars. The cars going to the roundabout from Jalan Jaya were stuck too. I was coming from Jalan Dorset. There was a yellow box at the junction. By right, when there was a traffic jam, cars coming from Jalan Jaya cannot enter the yellow box so that the cars from the other directions can move on.
I saw the cars were stuck. I saw my route was clear. I saw a car coming from Jalan Jaya towards the pack. I knew he had to stop and cannot enter the yellow box. I moved out … but the murderous car didn’t want to give way. He slammed into the side of my car.
You see, my kids were in the car. Luckily they were OK.
I made a police report. I was fined RM300 because of “careless driving by assuming the car will stop at the yellow box”. (Cuai masuk simpang, dengan anggapan kereta akan berhenti di kotak kuning)
